  excerpt from the 1980 Kindred Centennial book Ole Kinneberg Iverson came to Kindred from Houston County, MN.  In May 1875, he married Kari Grangaard, a sister of the Ole Grants and Tollef.  They started on their honeymoon in a covered wagon, bringing four horses, four cows, about a dozen chickens and three little pigs plus a plow and some household equipment.  Mr. Iverson had been here previously and had found a Dane who had homesteaded on the Sheyenne River but was so homesick for his native Denmark that he was willing to sell his farm.  Ole Iverson now farms this land.
